Dear RDM Community,

The registration is now open for the second Distribits conference end of  October (23-25). Attendance could be in person or virtually: https://www.distribits.live/events/2025-distribits. <https://www.distribits.live/events/2025-distribits/register/>

This conference is organized by the Team of Michael Hanke, who worked before at the OVGU and moved his lab to Julich (https://www.psychoinformatics.de).  His Team is responsible for DataLad, a distributed data management system (https://www.datalad.org).  Accordingly, this conference has a focus on this tool, its git/git-annex foundation and neuroscience, but it covers topics beyond this scope and should be of interest for a wider community that wants to learn more about technical solutions.

Dear RDM community in NRW,

I would like to draw your attention to the 2nd distribits meeting and hackathon, happening on 23-25 October in Düsseldorf, Germany, or virtually.

The aim of this meeting is to bring together enthusiasts of tools and workflows in the domain of distributed (research) data. It is organized by the people behind the git-annex and DataLad projects, yet the focus of the meeting extends well beyond those tools into the broad domain of data management. The free event comprises a two-day conference and an additional hackathon day, with the goal of promoting a stimulating exchange across professions, disciplines, and expertise. Attendees may include researchers, data stewards for collaborative initiatives, data scientists, software developers/engineers from academic or corporate environments, or simply enthusiastic individuals.
