[ontoiop-forum] DOL is adopted

Dear All,

the standardization of OntoIOp was originally initiated out of the EU project OASIS and started in ISO/TC 37/SC 3. OASIS was dealing with the aspect of persons with disabilities PwD).

 

We hope that in addition to having become a OMG standard, we hope that it will also become an ISO standard before long.

In the ongoing EU project IN LIFE OntoIOp is considered a best practice example and model for other standards to be developed out of EU projects.

 

We will mention it in the forthcoming conferences Med-e-tel 2016 and ICCHP 2016. 

We further inform UNESCO about it, as UNESCO is one of the stakeholders of the UN CRPD.

This doesn’t mean that we are done yet, we still need to go through the finalization phase before DOL 1.0 is released. But from now on the work is mainly editorial.
