Subject: [iaoa-general] Phishing attacks to IAOA members
Message-ID: <95534AC0-E7CE-42DE-B6CF-7FB3A2863EE7@unibz.it>
Dear all,
this is just a short note and warning.
On regular intervals, we are experiencing phishing attacks where unknown parties impersonate me as president of IAOA, or other members of the executive council, and contact members of the IAOA for some kind of emergency action, trying to initiate money transfers.
Often the people who get contacted are ?fished? from some document or page on IAOA.org .
Unfortunately these email attacks are getting more sophisticated, and with the help of LLMs can appear quite convincing.
Any email that tries to create urgency and involves financial transactions will be 100% spam. Please ignore and delete, and in general it is best not to engage or reply.
If in doubt, you can always contact info at iaoa.org
All the best,
Oliver Kutz
