From frank.loebe at informatik.uni-leipzig.de Wed Jul 23 16:45:09 2014 From: frank.loebe at informatik.uni-leipzig.de (Frank Loebe) Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2014 16:45:09 +0200 Subject: [iaoa-general] new mailing lists active, please note new address == RE: IAOA mailing list migration starts [...] Message-ID: <00d701cfa684$b6877be0$239673a0$@informatik.uni-leipzig.de> Dear IAOA followers, you receive this message from the new [iaoa-general] mailing list [1]. Please update your contacts with the new list address, where necessary. In the course of the broader IAOA infrastructure changes, all mailing lists have been transferred to our new host for mailing list services at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU), Germany. We are grateful to everyone involved, in particular Peter Yim (for CIM3, our former provider) and Stephan Jacob (for OVGU) for arranging and implementing the transfer of the lists. The transfer does not yet comprise the old archives [2]. Please refer to [2] for accessing messages to [iaoa-general] sent before today. New messages are archived in Magdeburg [3] by a slightly different approach than so far. Like the old one, the new archive is public. Please note that now email addresses in the archive can be reconstructed from their obscured display, in contrast to being truly incomplete in the old archive. Some further adaptations of or related to IAOA mailing lists are under discussion and may follow in the future. Moreover, any observations or comments from you as users of the new lists are very welcome and should be sent to [4]. Thank you all very much for your patience. The past Public Reports are collected at http://www.iaoa.org/iaoaorga/reports/reports.html I apologize for delays in providing several earlier reports, which shall be delivered within the next few weeks. Feel free to contact the Association if you have any question by emailing to: info at iaoa.org Best regards, Frank Loebe on behalf of IAOA EC --- One hundred seventh meeting of the IAOA Executive Council (EC) Virtual Meeting of 24 July 2014 Attendees: John Bateman Stefano Borgo Michael Gruninger (chair) Marion Haemmerli Janna Hastings Oliver Kutz Frank Loebe Fabian Neuhaus Leo Obrst Regarding the FOIS 2014 conference, the EC discussed which meetings related to the Association will be held during FOIS and which items are to be presented at the physical part of the Assembly. A call for proposals for the Assembly from the membership will be distributed in early August. For the relocation of IAOA to Switzerland, Association Statutes and Bylaws must be made compatible with Swiss law and regulations. This process has started now thanks to Marion Haemmerli, who summarized first adaptations that she has incorporated in updated versions of both documents. Fabian Neuhaus provided additional comments on that basis. A meeting of the Bylaws Committee will be held shortly in order to discuss open issues. After adapting Statute and Bylaws, a preliminary request on tax exemption in Switzerland will be submitted. John Bateman reported on the recent first meeting of the Election Committee for the 2014 EC Election. The election has been scheduled and several details of the ballot were agreed upon. The official announcement of the election will be distributed to the membership soon. The EC was informed about the status of feedback from the ten Advisory Board members whose four-year term expires at the end of 2014. So far six of them have renewed their service to IAOA. The Secretary reported on the need to reduce his service, significantly at the latest from October 2014 on and until January 2015 (reelection in office provided) due to other pressing obligations. Other EC members are ready to increase their support during this period. The transition of the IAOA infrastructure to new servers is getting close to the completion of its major phase. Recently, all mailing lists were transferred to the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU), Germany. (End of Report)
