Lucia's update by email on Patrick Koopmann's availability
[14:06] FrankLoebe: .
== 1. ESAO series ==
[14:07] FrankLoebe: FL: will have a few comments, currently the
situation is not satisfying
CT: a longer-term schedule might help
[14:07] FrankLoebe: CT: we'd need better management of distributing the
announcements
[14:10] FrankLoebe: FL: propose going for every 2-months in frequency
[14:10] FrankLoebe: CT: +1
[14:13] FrankLoebe: LV: we may work more with delegation, not involving
everyone in everything
[14:13] FrankLoebe: LV: still having 2-3 working on matters, as this is
helpful
[14:29] FrankLoebe: < authorization document shared >
[14:30] FrankLoebe: LV: also agree with longer-term strategy; note
though that there seems to be a need at the side of the audience; even
if session participation is low, it's still relevant
[14:32] LaureVieu: sorry I had lost connection
[14:35] FrankLoebe: < discussion on focus of content >
[14:36] FrankLoebe: FL: current abstract seemed a bit like a
mini-conference-talk abstract to me
[14:36] FrankLoebe: CT: it's going to be an introductory talk
[14:45] FrankLoebe: < discussion on topic options for/by Patrick Koopmann >
[14:46] FrankLoebe: FL: (not for Patrick) we may benefit from session(s)
on (i) what flavors of ontology engineering are there, (ii) what does
'ontology' mean in several circles
[14:47] FrankLoebe: FL: (for Patrick) perhaps showing kinds of reasoning
(from logic) and how this applies to (DL-)ontologies
[14:47] FrankLoebe: LV: I'd aim at more basic material; once we reach
current research, that might be too far already
[14:48] FrankLoebe: LGA: he may explain abduction in an introductory
manner (for ca. 10 min), plus a bit more on recent tools and use in
ontology engineering
[14:48] FrankLoebe: CT, LV, FL: +3
[14:52] FrankLoebe: regarding scheduling:
FL: propose rather Feb than Jan
CT: Feb 14 is better for me than Feb 21 (or 2
[14:52] FrankLoebe: FL: I'm fine with Feb 14
[14:53] LaureVieu: me too
[14:55] FrankLoebe: [action] LGA: will ask Patrick for Feb 14 at 16:00
CET and will explain the topic as just discussed
[14:57] FrankLoebe: LV: for alternative daates, it's better to stick to
the sema day of the week; we may be more flexible wrt. the periods in
between session
[15:00] FrankLoebe: .
== 1c. anything on tomorrow's session? ==
LV: what's the duration for tomorrow?
[15:01] FrankLoebe: CT: ask for 15-25 min talk, then discussion
[15:02] FrankLoebe: CT hosts, FL co-host
[15:05] FrankLoebe: host is responsible for emergency interruptions (or
hints on the time), if needed
[15:07] FrankLoebe: organizers gather 10 minutes before the session starts
[15:09] FrankLoebe: .
== 2. Copyright agreement - state ==
FL: now shared; who/how to continue on that?
[15:10] FrankLoebe: LV: suggest to dedicate the next EduTC meeting for
finalizing that document
[15:11] FrankLoebe: < on 1b: LGA: Patrick Koopmann accepted Feb 14 for
his slot >
[15:13] FrankLoebe: FL: Would we want a 2nd speaker for Feb 14?
[15:13] FrankLoebe: FL: maybe on an overview of flavors of "what's
ontology engineering?"
[15:14] FrankLoebe: LV: Oscar Corcho? Maria Poveda-Villalon?
[15:18] FrankLoebe: < discussion -> outcome: we may run a panel on that >
[15:20] FrankLoebe: who (ca. 5): Oscar Corcho/Maria Poveda-Villalon,
Patrick Koopmann, Giancarlo Guizzardi, Frank Loebe
[15:25] FrankLoebe: + Maria Keet

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18-RKAFVlIUcyWUVhZd-IEFJQI2-AqHLxfxeuWIIIaCs
[15:26] FrankLoebe: ^ CT: I've setup a planning spreadsheet for ESAO 2023
[15:26] FrankLoebe: [action] FL: tidy up the ESAO Google doc
[15:29] FrankLoebe: .
== 3. ISAO 2023 - no news yet ==
[15:29] FrankLoebe: FL: nothing new, except for Oliver Kutz also
accepting to join ISAO
[15:31] FrankLoebe: LGA: related to FOIS, we'd seek students interested
in setting up/layouting a poster for FOIS, could pay a 100 EUR voucher
[15:32] FrankLoebe: FL: you may also consider asking at [iaoa-member]
[15:33] FrankLoebe: [action] FL: ensure LGA gets list membership
[15:38] FrankLoebe: next EduTC meeting: Tue, Jan 24, 15:00
